Texas Smooth Groove Holiday Concert

We are still here!

Man, it's been a while since I wrote on this blog. It is hard to stay up to date. Way too much social media happening these days. Well, here is a rundown as of late. We had a great run at Julia Pearl in Plano but sad to say, they are now out of business. It was a very cool place and concept but just did not work out. We wish Vivian and Darcy the best. I am sure chef, Jermaine will land in a good place. He was nice on the culinary skills. We have since had the pleasure of performing at Sandaga 813 on thursdays and look forward to more shows at this South Dallas venue. We also have some new faces in the group. In addition to Kennan, Claud, Tim and Nick we have brought in Canadian guitarist, Ben Holt, KB player Josh Lothridge and drummer Josh Willis. The new blood has proved to be a great move.

Other new venues include Z Grill and Tap in Flower Mound, TX and we are back at Buttons Ft. Worth in April. Fingerprints will be at Ft. Worth Main Street artsfest Sunday April 23 and in Denton Sunday April 30.

Well, that's all for now but please keep in touch and follow us on social media fb/fingerprintstexas and on twitter @nichelsonent.

Until next time, Holla!

State of the business

Nichelson Entertainment News

December 2014

First of all, Greetings to each one of you. We chose to do something different from our normal “Holiday Card” this season. The advent of social media and the like seems to have gotten so many away from the personal touch. Don’t get me wrong, digital media is a great way to stay connected with friends. But during the Holidays it’s a wonderful time to share some holiday cheer and reflect on why we got into music, “to communicate our thoughts and feelings through tone & time”.

That said NE would like to extend our sincere Thanks for your Valued business and to wish you continued progress in the New Year.

Because of you, we are able to share some of the highlights from our artist over the past year. Saxophonist, Shelley Carrol was nominated for a 2014 Dallas Observer Music Award for “Best Jazz Act”. Carrol also continues to perform around the globe with the Duke Ellington Orchestra. Fingerprints is nearing a 30 year milestone in the music business and continues to maintain a steady performance schedule throughout the region. We are currently planning a special concert with past and present members for 2015. Kyle Turner is also keeping a very busy performance schedule as a leader and as a featured guest with R&B legend, Regina Belle. Our classic soul cover band, Avenue Soul (formerly Memphis Soul live) continues to grow in the corporate and private party market. NE has also recently signed on to manage the music career of pianist/composer, Eric Willis. This Louisiana native has performed with artist like Kirk Whalum, Wayman Tisdale, Tom Braxton and many others. He has also served as music director at some of DFW’s most prominent houses of worship. We look forward to a great relationship with Eric. Lastly, our owner/founder, Frederick Nichelson is now an executive board member at AFM local 72-147 (DFW musicians Union).

Again, Happy Holidays and we wish you all a prosperous and productive 2015!
